Time on the green done and dusted

The lawn bowls had wrapped up at the ClubsNSW Academy Games for another year as the Academies competed in their last round this morning at Bomaderry Bowling Club.

After having to battle in unpleasant conditions for the first day of the Academy Games, today’s sunnier weather was especially welcoming.

The last round saw close matches, with the Western Region Academy of Sport edging out Illawarra Academy of Sport Red, and Illawarra Academy of Sport Blue getting home slightly more comfortably over Hunter Academy of Sport.

The final standings for the lawn bowls event saw Illawarra Academy of Sport Blue take first place with 3 wins plus 45 points, Western Region Academy of Sport taking second place with 2 wins plus 6 points, Illawarra Academy of Sport Red placed third with one win minus 24 points, and the Hunter Academy of Sport came in fourth with unfortunately no wins minus 27 points.

Despite their overall placing, all players from their respective Academies put in exceptional team performances and should all be proud of their efforts over the course of the Academy Games.
