Rugby has wrapped up for the 2014 Games after a day of expert coaching and practical training.
This year, numbers might have been down in rugby due to the different age ranges of Academy squads taking part in the sport and the rules governing those age differences, but there was no dampening the players’ enthusiasm.
Squad members from Illawarra and South West Sydney greatly benefited from coaching from Australian Rugby Union coaches, and will take away hand-on tips as a result of today’s sessions.
The day consisted of approximately seven to eight hours of intense skill training and a tournament where the two Academies got to compete against each other. The players have walked away from the event with honed skills and a wider range of knowledge on their chosen sport.
