The ClubsNSW Academy Games were launched at the Armidale City Bowling Club by games patron, Richard Torbay MP.


NIAS athletes were on hand to show Mr Torbay the finer points of Lawn Bowls, one of the sports in this years Academy Games.


Mr Phil Wheaton, General manager of Armidale City Bowling Club was on hand to represent ClubsNSW. ClubsNSW continue as the principal partner of the Academy Games.


The games will attract approximately 1000 athletes and staff, along with family, friends, state and national sporting association representatives, some of who are intricately involved in the running of the sporting event and others who are interested in identifying talented athletes from around the state.


Eleven NSW Regional Academy's of Sport will participate, as well as the Gold Coast Academy of Sport, Sydney Hockey Academy and Central West Rugby squad.

 

A call to Volunteers.....
The Academy Games will provide a great opportunity for anyone interested in sport to become involved as a volunteer. Volunteer opportunities exist in a host of areas such as: Media, Transport and Logistics, Venue Management, Sports Management, Hospitality and more.
